July 30, 2017
Thank you so much for all of the support over the past month as we trained for U23 Worlds. It was such an amazing experience to travel with Team USA to Plovdiv, Bulgaria and to race against some very fast competition. We are very proud of winning the B Final in the Women's Lightweight 4x event and had an amazing last race together overall. This past weekend was an incredible learning experience for all of us and we could not have done it without all of your support. Thank you!
In September, Janice and Emma will be returning to their respective schools for the fall semester, BU and Princeton. Recent college graduates, Makayla and Anna are planning to stay in Boston and continue rowing as well at the senior level.
Tomorrow marks the end of our fundraising period. We would greatly appreciate if you could please share this link with friends, family, and on social media.
Again, thank you so much for all of the support and encouraging words as we trained for and raced at Worlds!!
Welcome to our Fundraiser!
Hi! Our names are Makayla Karr-Warner, Emma Hopkins, Janice Hagerman, and Anna Cruse. We will represent the United States at the Under 23 World Championships in the Women's Lightweight Quadruple Sculls event in Plovdiv, Bulgaria from July 19-23, 2017.
This summer, we are training in Boston, Massachusetts at the Union Boat Club Development Camp under head coach Malcolm Doldron. Makayla is a recent graduate from Boston University and Anna from University of Minnesota. Janice is a rising junior at Boston University and Emma is a rising sophomore at Princeton University.
We are currently fundraising to help cover the costs to represent the United States at this race - this includes flights, meals, transportation, equipment rental, and much more at the World Championships. The Under 23 Team is entirely self-funded, so we greatly appreciate any help.
We would like to thank our respective collegiate rowing coaches and teammates as well as our parents for supporting us as we achieved our goals of representing the US this summer in Plovdiv. We would also like to thank Coach Malcolm Doldron for his dedication to the Union Boat Club Development Camp as well as our boat and Riverside Boat Club for providing equipement for us to train and race in this summer.
Lastly, we would like to thank you in advance for any contributions you can make and if you could share this RallyMe page via other social media platforms and with friends.
